Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 7, 2026
1. About this policy
DailyPage is a reading and language-learning app that helps you read books, save unfamiliar words, phrases, and sentences, and review what you have learned. This Privacy Policy explains how information is processed when you use DailyPage and its related services (the “Services”).
DailyPage is operated by the developer of the app (“we,” “us,” or “our”). For privacy questions or requests, contact us at dailypage@heydeal.studio.
2. Information processed by DailyPage
Books and learning records
To provide reading and review features, DailyPage processes the books you import (including EPUB files), book information and covers, reading positions and progress, saved words, phrases, and sentences and their context, review responses and learning status, learning and reading activity, language preferences, and app settings.
These records are stored on your device and synchronized through your iCloud account across compatible devices. AI explanation and follow-up conversation history is also stored on your device and synchronized through iCloud.
We do not persistently store your imported books or learning records on developer-operated servers. Information you choose to submit to an online AI feature is processed separately, as explained below.
AI translations, explanations, and follow-up questions
When you choose to use an online AI feature, DailyPage sends the selected word, phrase, or sentence, necessary surrounding text from the book, and, where applicable, your current question and relevant language information for processing. For follow-up questions, DailyPage does not send previous questions or AI responses from your conversation history to the AI provider.
Requests are routed through Alibaba Cloud functions for users in mainland China and Cloudflare for users outside mainland China, then sent to the official DeepSeek API for processing. The services handling these requests may receive necessary technical information, such as connection details and IP addresses.
DeepSeek's handling of submitted information, including any retention or use for model training, is subject to its applicable policies and terms. See DeepSeek's published privacy information. We do not promise that DeepSeek never retains requests or uses them for model improvement.
AI features are optional. Choosing an AI action initiates the corresponding online request. You can avoid sending further content to DeepSeek by not using these features; reading and review features that do not depend on online AI remain available. Do not include sensitive personal information that is unnecessary for an AI request.
Purchases and membership
App Store payments are processed by Apple. DailyPage uses Apple StoreKit on your device to verify purchases, check subscription entitlements, and restore eligible purchases. We do not use our own server or a third-party subscription management platform for purchase verification, and we do not receive your full payment-card details.
Technical information and support
DailyPage does not integrate third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. We use crash diagnostics made available by Apple, subject to Apple's settings and policies.
To maintain service reliability and security, we and our cloud service providers may collect and retain necessary request metadata and operational diagnostic information. We do not intentionally log the content of AI requests or AI-generated responses. Technical log retention follows the applicable service providers' policies.
If you email us for support, we receive the email address, message, and any attachments you send. We use this information to respond and investigate reported issues. Please avoid sending entire books or sensitive information unless necessary.
3. Why we use information
We process information to:
- Open your books, keep your reading position, and remember your preferences.
- Save unfamiliar content, organize reviews, and show learning progress.
- Synchronize your supported data through iCloud.
- Respond to AI requests you choose to make.
- Verify App Store purchases and provide Pro features.
- Provide support, troubleshoot problems, maintain security, and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell or rent personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use your books and learning records for targeted advertising.
4. Who receives information
We share information only as needed to provide the Services or as otherwise described in this policy:
- Apple: for App Store purchases, StoreKit services, iCloud synchronization, and Apple-provided diagnostics. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Alibaba Cloud and Cloudflare: to route and operate online AI requests and support service reliability. The provider used for request routing depends on the user's region, as described in Section 2.
- DeepSeek: to generate AI translations, explanations, and answers to the questions you submit.
- Email and support service providers: to receive and handle support messages you send to us.
- Legal or safety-related recipients: when disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to address fraud, security incidents, or legal claims.
If you choose to export or share content with another app or person, the recipient you choose may receive that content. If the Services are transferred to another operator, any related transfer of information will be subject to applicable legal requirements and notice obligations.
5. Storage, retention, and deletion
Your books and learning data
Your books and learning records are stored on your device and in your iCloud account. In the app, you can delete individual books and supported learning items and records. Deleting a book also removes its associated translation and AI explanation information. Deletions made in DailyPage are synchronized through iCloud to your other compatible devices.
Deleting the app may remove local data, but does not necessarily delete information already held in iCloud, device backups, support emails, or online service providers' systems. Turning off iCloud synchronization does not itself erase previously synchronized data. You can manage iCloud storage and backups using your Apple device settings.
AI requests, logs, and support messages
Our cloud functions process AI requests to deliver responses and do not intentionally store request text or AI responses in application logs or a developer-operated learning database. DeepSeek and relevant cloud service providers may retain information according to their applicable policies. Deleting a local AI record does not necessarily delete information previously processed by those providers.
Necessary technical logs may be retained under the applicable cloud providers' policies. Support emails have no automatic deletion schedule and are generally kept until manually deleted or until a deletion request is handled, subject to applicable legal requirements. App Store purchase records are handled by Apple under its policies.
To request deletion of personal information under our control, email dailypage@heydeal.studio. We cannot directly access or erase data held only on your device or within an Apple account that we cannot access. We will explain any relevant limitations or legal exceptions.
6. International processing
Online AI requests are routed through Alibaba Cloud for mainland China or Cloudflare for other regions and are then sent to DeepSeek. As a result, information submitted for online AI processing may be processed outside your country or region. The processing is subject to the applicable providers' terms and privacy practices, and any legally required cross-border protections continue to apply.
7. Your choices and privacy rights
You can manage supported books and learning records in DailyPage, manage iCloud through Apple settings, choose whether to use online AI features, and manage App Store subscriptions through your Apple Account. Not making new AI requests prevents new text from being submitted through these features, but does not automatically remove information from earlier requests.
Depending on where you live, applicable privacy laws may give you rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information; restrict or object to certain processing; withdraw consent where applicable; or complain to a data protection authority. These rights may be subject to legal exceptions and reasonable identity verification.
Where required by applicable law, processing must have an appropriate legal basis, such as providing a service you request, complying with legal obligations, a legitimate interest in security and service reliability, or consent where required. We do not use learning estimates to make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. We do not discriminate against people for exercising applicable privacy rights.
Send privacy requests to dailypage@heydeal.studio. We respond within the time required by applicable law.
8. Children
DailyPage is not directed to children under 13. Where applicable law requires a higher minimum age or parental authorization, those requirements apply. If you believe a child has provided personal information without the required authorization, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
9. Security
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information processed, but no system is completely risk-free. Please protect your device and Apple Account and keep backup copies of important original book files. Nothing in this policy limits rights or protections required by applicable data protection law.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as DailyPage's features or legal requirements change. We will update the date above and provide further notice or seek consent where required. Changes to this policy do not automatically authorize new uses of previously collected information that are incompatible with applicable law.
For privacy questions or requests, contact dailypage@heydeal.studio.
